Infrastructure
The Infrastructure Services department of ASU’s Division of Information Technology Services plays a crucial role in delivering information and technology services while safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the university’s data. The department consists of two key areas: network administration and system administration.
1. Network Administration:
- Network Setup and Maintenance: Configuring and maintaining wired and wireless networks
- Connectivity and Security: Ensuring seamless connectivity and overall network security of firewall, routers and switches
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing problems, resolving connectivity issues, and optimizing network performance
- User Support: Assisting users with network-related issues and troubleshooting network-related problems
2. System Administration:
- Server Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers: operating systems, software installations, and updates
- Data Backup and Recovery: Creating backups and planning recovery procedures in case of system failures
- Telephony Communication: Managing and maintaining VOIP and analog lines
- User Management: Managing Office 365 user accounts, permissions, access control, and compliance measures
