Campus Statement | March 23

Early this morning a traffic incident was reported on Radium Springs Road involving two Albany State University students, Ms. Juanita Alejos and Ms. Sarah Italien. The University was informed that Ms. Alejos did not survive the accident, and Ms. Italien was transported for medical attention.

The University has been in contact with each student's family, and the campus community will continue to extend its support throughout this difficult period. Counseling Services are available for the campus community as we mourn the loss of our fallen ram, and await updates on Ms. Italien’s condition,

The incident is currently under investigation by the Albany Police Department. No additional information is available at this time.
