Purpose: To encourage students to become politically involved within the City of Albany.
Thursday, February 8
Movie Night (Selma)
7 p.m. -10 p.m.
C Building, Second Floor Ballroom (West)
Purpose: To educate students about African American history.
Thursday, February 8
Give Back
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Purpose: To encourage community engagement and recruit students (will visit 1 elementary school,
1 middle school, and 1 high school).
Friday, February 9
HBCU Unity
Fort Valley State University
12 p.m. -10 p.m.
Purpose: To encourage unity among the HBCUs in the Southern region.

Purpose: Students will enjoy a peaceful evening of healthy alternatives. Organic snacks will
be served and nutrition tips will be shared. Students will have access to arts and
crafts activities. It is a night to sample all things lovely.

Issues Forum on Race in America

Purpose: This panel discussion on race in contemporary America will feature faculty members
Andre Johnson, Harriet Malone, Matt Stanley, and Jamie Barker.

A Black History Month Teach-In
9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Billy C. Black Building, Rm 141 (East)
Purpose: Those interested in learning about Black history in a variety of disciplines and
subject areas are invited to stop by at any time to attend a session.
Tuesday, February 27
Strengths in Our Heritage
7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Billy C. Black Building Auditorium (East)
Purpose: The NAACP will present a stage production jam packed with looks & motions reflective
of the strengths in African heritage. The show is for paying homage to the evolution
of our glorious Black History. Join us for an eventful night of dance, poetry and
culture.

Honoring Unsung Heroes (Talent Show)
7 p.m. -10 p.m.
J Building Theater (West)
Purpose: To honor the heroes of Black History that are not often publicized.
