Get in shape and have fun this summer with our fitness program! The ASU summer fitness program is open to participants of all ages, including adults and minors accompanied by an adult. Families are welcome to join us for a fun and healthy summer activity. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Our program is a great way for families to bond while getting fit together. Don't let age be a barrier to your fitness goals. Join us for a full-body workout that will leave you feeling energized and refreshed.
Our experienced instructors will guide you through a variety of exercises to improve your strength, endurance, and flexibility. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out, our program is designed to meet your individual fitness goals.

Albany State Youth Enrichment Program (ASYEP) | 6/1 - 7/21

- Age Requirement: 7-14 years old
The Albany State Youth Enrichment Program (ASYEP) is a community outreach initiative designed to provide youth within the city of Albany and Dougherty County, Georgia, and the surrounding counties an opportunity to engage in various enrichment activities.
The primary venture of the program is to include youth development, physical fitness and wellness, and the development of social and academic skills. Youth will engage in hands-on sports activities (basketball, volleyball, softball, kickball, and swimming), and immersive academic courses. This summer outreach program will also allow participants to think and begin planning their educational and professional careers.

ASU Literacy, Math, & Career Development Summer Enrichment Program | 6/1 - 6/30

The ASU Literacy/Math & Career Development Enrichment Program is a comprehensive training program for middle and high school students in a five -county geographical area in the Albany State University service area. Those counties include Dougherty, Mitchell, Terrell, Lee, and Worth. The four-week summer program will enroll 60 middle and high school students to participate in a classroom training program to enhance reading skills and career development. The four-week project will be held Monday – Friday each week. Students will arrive on campus at 8 a.m., and be dismissed at 2 p.m.

National Summer Transportation Institute | 6/1 – 6/30

The Federal Highway Administration funds the Summer Transportation Institute program through Georgia Department of Transportation. The program aims to expose minority youths to career opportunities in the transportation industry.

ASU Accelerated Research Training Experience & Mentorship in STEM (ARTEMIS) Precollege Summer Institute (PSI) Scholars Program | 6/4 - 6/17

- Age Requirement: 15-17 Years Old (Rising 10th & 11th Graders)
The ASU Accelerated Research Training Experience & Mentorship in STEM (ARTEMIS) Precollege Summer Institute (PSI) is a two-week, day residential camp for rising sophomore and junior high school students interested in pursuing a STEM-based career, sponsored by NASA.
Participating students will explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The ARTEMIS Precollege Summer Institute offers active, hands-on learning in STEM, and college preparation and career-based mentoring. ASU students, faculty, and staff organize a week of creative activities and lessons incorporating science into the daily curricula, including flying UAVs (drones), launching rockets, microcontrollers, and chemistry. Students will also participate in a week-long Data Science and Artificial Intelligence workshop hosted in part by Wells Fargo.
Students will also be introduced to real-world science applications through off-campus trips to locations such as the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The program is committed to enhancing science education and increasing the number of minorities and women in STEM fields.

You Matter! Career Preparation for the Latter | 6/5 - 6/16

- Age Requirement: 11-19 years old (Must be in middle or high school)
Middle and High school is a pivotal time to educate students regarding their path to career readiness. During this time, students should become knowledgeable of sectors that are likely to have a shortage of skilled workers. This camp will serve as a jumpstart for students to align with their interests.

ASU Basketball Getting to Know Me On and Off the Court | 6/5 - 6/23

To educate, engage and serve the community of girls 15 – 18 years of age and to target mental health as a vital element of wellness and overall health both on and off the court. This program aims to address these challenges facing our young girls. Focusing on basketball skills, coupled with dialogue that discuss mental health challenges, life challenges, academic challenges, peer challenges, and sports challenges will allow the participants to learn and grow on and off the court.

ASU Mini Volleyball Day Camp | June 9, July 14, July 28

The ASU Mini Volleyball Day Camp will teach young girls in the 8th-12th grade basic volleyball skills. There are three separate camps - June 8, July 14 and July 28.

ASUPD Women's Empowerment Program for Teens | 6/21 - 6/23

The ASU Police Department Women’s Empowerment Camp will help set goals and aspirations by mentoring the youth and knowing their self-worth, self-esteem, and confidence. The program will include educational activities and workshops on leadership traits, social skills and etiquette. This program will provide opportunities to help each teen embrace their potential growth and build healthy relationships among their peers.

ASU's Center for Blockchain Innovation and Emerging Technology will host its annual Summer STEM Enrichment Program at ASU's East Campus. ASU will provide three uniquely themed sessions of week-long STEM Camps. Each session consists of fun hands-on STEM/STEAM activities that provide students with technology, problem-solving, challenges, and cooperative activities. Sessions are designed to help students develop the skills, knowledge, and capabilities needed for our technology-driven world. Both girls and boys will find fun and creative activities in our week-long camp sessions. Programs will include take-home components so that participants can continue expanding their knowledge!
The camp will be Monday through Thursday with a morning session from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and an afternoon session from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Summer Bootcamp in Web Design with HTML + CSS | 6/19 - 7/14
- Deadline to Register: June 16
- Cost: Free + Free Lunch
- Age Requirement: 6th-12th grade
The Summer Bootcamp in Web Design, hosted by ASU’s Center for Blockchain Innovation and Emerging Technology, will teach students how to create webpages using HTML, CSS and Bootstrap framework. They will use the visual studio for code environment, which is equipped with Github co-pilot, a chatGPT3-based AI extension. The camp is from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., with a noon lunch break. Lunch will be provided. After the camp, students will develop a website of four webpages that feature a particular topic of individual choice. Further instructions will be provided to help students create a public website with their own domain names. Students can use this opportunity to develop a website that can be used for college applications and future job applications.

Albany Young Marines Summer STEM Enrichment Program | 6/19 - 6/23

The Albany Young Marines Summer Camp will introduce students to the exciting world of drones and help promote STEM education, creativity, and responsible drone use. At the camp, students can learn about the different types of drones, their applications, and the science and technology behind them. They can also learn about drone safety and regulations and ethical considerations surrounding drone use. The camp can include hands-on activities like designing and building drones, programming them to perform specific tasks, and using them to collect data or capture aerial footage. Participants must be members of the Albany Young Marines.

ASU Constellation Solar Camp | 6/26 - 7/21

The ASU Constellation Solar Camp will expose local middle and high school students to solar energy-related hands-on STEM activities. Activities include solar cell voltage, current and power measurement, Series – Parallel operation of solar cells, and the design of a green energy system.
There are three identical sessions. Students can join any of those sessions as indicated below:

Session 2: July 10 – July 14
Session 3: July 17 – July 21
Camp will start at 1:00 pm and will end at 4:00 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
