During the University System of Georgia (USG) Ethics Awareness Week, Albany State University (ASU) selected a faculty and staff member to receive the 2023 Shining RAM Award. The Shining RAM Award is given to a faculty and staff member who exemplifies excellence, integrity, respect, and accountability in everyday practices and demonstrates innovation, creativity, and courage in working to improve areas within the University.
The Faculty Shining RAM Award was awarded to Dr. Anta’Sha Jones, an assistant professor of biological sciences. She was nominated for demonstrating innovation, creativity, courage, and commitment in her work with students at ASU.
In her five years at the university, Dr. Jones has shown passion for imparting knowledge to ASU’s scholars and goes above and beyond the call of duty for all her students. She has participated and encouraged ASU students to broaden their knowledge globally through study abroad programs, where she has traveled to Jamaica, Europe, and the United Kingdom, educating ASU’s students on different cultures and various scientific methods used in other countries.
The Staff Shining RAM Award was awarded to Mr. Reginald Christian, campus photographer in the Office of Marketing and Communications. He was nominated for his unwavering commitment, selflessness, and unconditional love for ASU, his alma mater.
