Why did you choose ASU?
I knew I was meant to be at ASU after attending the campus tour. The students, professors,
and faculty made me feel welcomed, the affordable tuition, and the campus wasn't too
far from home. There was no better university to attend than ASU. In addition, I picked
ASU because I wanted to carry on my mother's legacy of attending an HBCU.
What motivated you to learn more about your field?
My acting and modeling school offered me a student marketing/communications gig. It
was then that I developed a strong interest in marketing as a profession and knew
that I wanted to study more.
What do you love most about your chosen profession?
I love the diversity, creativity, and networking opportunities that marketing offers.
Who has made the most significant impact on you, and who do you consider to be a role
model at ASU?
Ms. Kimberly Whiters, Dr. Devona Mallory, Dr. Kathaleena Monds, Mrs. Leslie Charles,
Dr. Devi Akella, Dr. Corrine Sweet, Dr. Edwin Nyamwala, Dr. Uzell Williams, Mr. Hatem
Bata, my friends I've made here, and my line sisters, 49 E.N.C.O.R.E has made the
biggest impact on me during my time at ASU. They’ve been very supportive to me, always
there when I need them, and imparted several pieces of knowledge that I can apply
to my future endeavors.
What advice would you give to other ASU students?
College is what you make it. Establish relationships, build memories, and most importantly
take care of yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally. If you need help, don't
be afraid to ask, and no matter how challenging or stressful school may be, always
remember your purpose. You're here for a reason, remain focused on the goal and stay
positive.
What would you tell a high school student about choosing ASU to further their education?
I was once in your shoes, and I will be the first to say don't think twice. Come be
a part of the Ramily!
